Out Of Range Episode 8 – Back To The Future Part II The “1967″ Script

BTTF ptII 1967 script

Gareth and I are back once again to discuss another alternate “Back To The Future” script. This time we analyse the original concept script for Back To The Future Part II, written as a standalone sequel to the original movie. This is a fascinating story that differs in many ways to the finalised story that was eventually produced, including the fact that in this story Doc Brown and Marty travel back to 1967.

Enjoy!

Gareth and I will soon be recording our discussion on 1985′s “Back To The Future” for Out Of Range and we are looking for comments.

Do you have fond memories of the movie? Can you get your head around it or do you have a problem with it? We would also be interested in any thoughts regarding the latest show where we discuss the original 1981 script of the movie and it’s many differences.

Please leave comments in this post or email the show at podcast@dangelus.com

Auto-posting to Google+

One of the frustrating things about Google+ is that they haven’t released a full API to the service which would add functionality such as 3rd party access to post.

If you’re a blogger or podcaster then you know the importance of being able to communicate to as many outlets as possible in the most efficient way possible. Because of this I have been looking for a way to automate my blog posts into my Google+ account. Today I stumbled across this blog post and it appears to have come across the solution!

Thanks to Dirk_SG for this answer:

1. Get the feed url from your source (e.g. in Blogger scroll to the bottom get the url from the link where it says Subscribe to: Posts)

2. Go to Google Reader http://www.google.com/reader/

3. Add the feed using the Subscribe button on the left.

4. At the top right click Share and select the circles you want to publish to or Public

I’ve set it up as per instructions with my blog feeds and it seems to work very nicely!

Update: It seems this doesn’t work as well as described. Although it does consolidate all your RSS feeds in one place you still need to share them yourself to Google+. There is a “share to G+” button in the reader to click. Oh well, it is one step less complicated but, come on Google, let’s have this functionality automated already!

RSS Graffiti – Auto-post to Facebook Groups

This may be of interest to fellow podcasters.

Facebook blogging tool RSS Graffiti is a service that will monitor Twitter accounts or RSS feeds and auto-magically post updates to Facebook. What’s interesting about this is unlike many other services that can post to your Facebook wall or fan page, this will post to Facebook GROUPS.

Since podcast feeds are RSS based this is perfect for podcasters to keep their Facebook groups up to date with their latest episodes without having to lift a finger!

It’s very easy to setup and configure. I’ve set it up to point the my feed for Out Of Range in about 2 minutes.

Give it a try and let me know if it works for you, plus share this tip! :)

TeknoCratik – My new technology blog, review and podcast website

Yes, I know I’m not the most active of bloggers but I’m hoping this is going to change. I’ve decided to start up a new blog/podcast/review site called TeknoCratik. The purpose of this site will be to chronicle my use of technology. I’ll be looking at the hardware, software, apps and gadgets that I use talking about them. You will find some useful tips (I hope) and some video reviews taken with my trusty iPad.

Over the many years that I have had an avid interest in tech and digital entertainment I have contributed to various online forums and heavily made use of these wonderful places. There are some great resources out there for those who want the up to date news on the cutting edge. I’ll be offering my take on what’s going in the exciting world of digital media.

It’s very early days but I want to get the ball rolling soon. Check it out at TeknoCratik.

Test post using the iPad WordPress app

Posted in Apps with tags , , on October 21, 2011 by Dangelus

Well you may have noticed I have struggled to post lately. ;)

I’m writing this in the iOS WordPress app to see if will help me find the time to write. First impressions are that the app is very bare but when you start a post a lot more functions appear. I have absolutely no clue what I can do with this app but it looks like it is mainly for posting and administering posts. I can attach media as well so this may work.

I remember checking this out before but at the time I don’t think it supported WordPress formatted blogs hosted on 3rd party websites so I am glad they added this feature.
